Pre-College/Youth Programs

SOML - Southern Oregon Mathematics League 2012

The Southern Oregon Mathematics League conducts up to five math competitions throughout the year. Local high schools form up to 3 teams of 6 junior and senior advanced math students. The competition includes three individual events followed by a team collaboration. Three students from a team compete in each event. Competitions will be held October 11, 2011, November 8, 2011, February 14, 2012, March 13, 2012 and April 10, 2012. 2011 Results

Twelve high schools from Jackson, Josephine and Klamath counties representing 234 students participated in five meets during the 2010-2011 school year. These schools were divided into two divisions, 4A and 3A-2A. A total of 34 teams participated in all five meets with an additional 18 Junior SOML teams competing in the last meet. Members of the SOU mathematics faculty operated the meets. The coordinator, SOU Mathematics Professor Dr. Kemble Yates, supervised the preparation of questions, reports, and newsletters.
