SOU Pre-College/Youth Classes
Southern Oregon University Pre-College Youth Programs is dedicated to providing enriching educational opportunities to students in grades K-12 and their families. Now in our 33rd year we offer enrichment classes, academic competitions, courses offered for academic credit to high school students, and summer residential camps and classes.
Attending classes on a university campus in a fun, safe, dynamic environment will get you excited about college life and encourage dreams of becoming a college student.
CURRENT PROGRAMS and CLASSES
Current Classes for High School students. Classes for K-8th grade students are not offered during the school year. Summer 2013 classes will be available for registration in April 2013.
ACADEMIC COMPETITIONS Brain Bowl, Academic Scavenger Hunt, Best of the Best Art Show, Spelling, Mathematics. Open to public and private schools.
AWSEM (Advocates for Women in Science, Engineering, & Mathematics): One day symposium for middle school girls
Advanced Southern Credit Earn college credit from select classes taught at your high school
Early Entry Attend classes at SOU and earn college credit while still in high school

Konaway Nika Tillicum Native American Youth Academy
SEA CAMP OF OREGON Marine Biology residential program held at the Oregon coast for ages 10-13
Camp MD (Medical Detectives) a Health and Science Careers experience for students in grades 9-12
Oregon Outdoor Adventures Residential outdoor program for girls in grades 8 and 9

International Piano Institute
A week long intensive piano institute with Dr. Nekita True and Dr. Alexander Tutunov. This program will be held again in Summer 2013.
Schneider Children’s Center
A state licensed and NAEYC accredited program for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Schneider Children's Center web site.
