Maggie McClellanMaggie McClellan, Associate Professor

Voice and Movement for the Stage

Maggie McClellan worked as a professional actress in New York before she began her teaching career. She has taught acting, voice, movement, and period styles in conservatory programs at Western Michigan University, the American University in Cairo, Egypt, Wright State University in Ohio, the University of Miami, and Cornell University in New York. Her most recent appearance as a professional actress was in a national tour of Death of a Salesman with Hal Holbrook.

Maggie directs numerous productions at SOU, and she teaches Movement, Voice and Speech, Improvisation, and Acting III. She holds an MFA in theatre from Southern Methodist University in Texas, and her BFA was split between New York University, where she studied with Stella Adler and members of the Royal Shakespeare Company in residence, and the California Institute of the Arts.
