Don Weingust, Associate Professor
Director, Center for Shakespeare Studies
Don Weingust is an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts and Director of the Center for Shakespeare Studies. He is the author of the Routledge text Acting from Shakespeare’s First Folio: Theory, Text, and Performance. Don is active professionally conducting research, writing, giving papers at conferences and organizing seminars, including for the Shakespeare Association of America, and is the founding chair of the Shakespearean Performance Research Group of the American Society for Theatre Research.
A trained director, he is an Equity actor and has worked off-Broadway and with regional repertory theatres such as the Berkeley Repertory Theatre and the Arizona Theatre Company. He comes to southern Oregon from Tufts University, where he was the resident Shakespearean in the Department of Drama and Dance. Don holds a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
