The Shape of Things by Neil LaBute
When Adam meets Evelyn, he can’t believe his good fortune. She’s beautiful, smart and apparently crazy about him. But Evelyn may not be everything she seems and Adam may not be the man he thinks he is. Neil LaBute’s provocative drama owes homage to both the biblical Adam and Eve and to George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion. Intended for mature audiences, his 2001 play about the morality of beauty and the reality of modern relationships is a scathing commentary on society’s obsession with appearances.
