Student Activities and Leadership
How Student Fees Work
Each student pays a student fee of approximately $200 per term. This money is pooled from all students to create a fund of around $2 million to fund all athletics, student activities, groups, resource centers, and organizations for the year.
What is the Inter-Club Council?
The Inter-Club Council (ICC) has a small budget that helps small student groups
recruit and host small events. The entirety of ICC's funding comes from the Educational Activities
Advisory Committee.
What is the Educational Activities Advisory Committee?
The Educational Activities Advisory Committee (EAAC) provides the funding pool for ICC. Also, EAAC
approves yearly budgets for larger groups and organizations. Groups funded through the EAAC typically
have budgets including office, telephone, copying, printing, and travel services.
What is the Athletics Advisory Committee?
The Athletics Advisor Committee (AAC) approves budgets for sports events only. Funding for events,
equipment, and coach salaries is provided by the AAC. The AAC budget is then augmented by ticket sales
and state lottery funds.
What is the Stevenson Union Advisory Committee?
The Stevenson Union Advisory Committee (SUAC) approves funding for the operation of the Stevenson
Union only. Building operations, custodial staff, and renovation projects are all funded by the
SUAC.
What is the Student Fee Committee?
The Student Fee Committee (SFC) approves the final budgets for the EAAC, SUAC, and AAC. SFC also
hears requests for large changes to budgets, or for larger student events or programs. The SFC
deliberates on the budgets and sets the final fee level for the upcoming year.
What's above the Student Fee Committee?
After the SFC decides the final approved budgets, this total budget is then sent forth to ASSOU
(Student Government). ASSOU hears the concerns of any group
whose budgets were adjusted or not approved by the SFC and its subcommittees and is the last
student interaction with the budget. The final student fee budget then goes on to be approved
by the university president and the Oregon University System.
