GSU's Mission is to provide a safe space for support, activism, education, and sensitization within the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans, and Heterosexual communities.

We work to diminish prejudice, discrimination, violence, and oppression through activism and education, both on campus and statewide. The GSU also provides on campus education through residence halls and classroom panel discussions.

The members of GSU wish to provide a safe environment where the rights, dignity, and worth of every individual is respected. We will be here as a resource and support network for those who need us.

We welcome everyone and do not assume that any person affiliated with the GSU falls under any of the specific labels of gay, bisexual, lesbian or trans. All members of GSU are individuals and should be thought of as such. We need and encourage the support of everyone.
