Students in Service

Earn $1,175 for school by completing 300 hours of community service over a 12-month period. Service-focused work-study jobs, practicums, capstones and internships all qualify. You may count up to 20 percent (60 hours) of related classwork as member development hours.


The Basics

The five areas of service:
» Education
» Environment
» Human services
» Public safety
» Community development

Service must be:
» at least 80 percent direct service
» up to 20 percent member development
» no more than 50 percent office or clerical work
