We believe that college students of color have a special commitment to make their university relevant to themselves and their community. These students should drive for academic excellence but also educate the campus community about their culture. The BSU is committed to forming an organization that relates to the Black campus community and the community at large.

Our long-term goals are creating leadership skills among our members, promoting cultural solidarity within our membership, mentoring prospective high school students, and encouraging a sense of community responsibility.
