The offices of Student Life provide social, cultural and educational programs housed in a vibrant student community that underscore our values of diversity and inclusion, leadership development, and student involvement. We offer opportunities for employment, service, and engagement that enhance deep learning, academic success, cultural competency and self-efficacy by fostering a climate that supports equity and social justice.
Student Life encompass new student orientation and first-year mentor programs; environmental and community engagement and the Ecology Center of the Siskiyous (ECOS) ; a vibrant student community within the Stevenson Union (SU) that houses student-run resource centers including the Multicultural, Queer, Women’s, Commuter and Veteran’s offices; student government and more than 80 student clubs and organizations. The Event Planning and Involvement Committee (EPIC) promotes the Raider spirit by engaging the campus in university traditions and campus-wide social activities while connecting student development to the lifecycle of the red-tailed hawk, the mascot of SOU. We foster the values of connectedness and wellness through Raider Recreation, Outdoor Programs and health education and promotion programming. Services offered include room reservations within the SU, the Student Publicity Center, the University Bookstore, Rogue Credit Union, and Elmo’s Dining café.
