Vice President for Student Affairs

Jonathan Eldridge serves as Vice President for Student Affairs. Originally from Stanwood, Washington, Jon has degrees from Central Washington University and Colorado State University.

Jon has served on the board of directors for NASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators), which serves over 12,000 student affairs professionals throughout the world. He is also an evaluator for the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, and is on the boards of directors for the United Way of Jackson County and the Ashland Community Hospital Foundation.

As Vice President, Jon is a member of SOU's executive council and reports to the President. He oversees the areas of Academic Support Programs – Advising, Disability Resources, Student Success Initiatives, and Success at Southern TRIO Program; Athletics, Bookstore, Dean of Students, Residential Education & Services – Housing, Residential Life, & Dining; Student Health & Wellness; and Student Life – Activities, Leadership, Outdoor Programs, and civic engagement.

The Vice President is responsible for ensuring that the University provides appropriate and exceptional services and opportunities for students and that their academic pursuits and career plans are supported in an integrated, coherent fashion.
