SOU OneCard Opt Out Information
- All students who opt out of using the SOU OneCard will be charged a one-time fee of $20 to replace the SOU OneCard with the SOU ID Card. The cost to replace a lost, damaged, or stolen SOU ID Card is also $20.
- All excess financial aid and other refunds will be processed by paper check only and sent to the mailing address the opt out student has on file with SOU. Business Services will begin mailing refunds checks on the first day of the term. Keeping the mailing address current is the responsibility of the student. Use MySOU to make address updates.
- Students must submit a completed SOU OneCard Opt Out Request form at the Enrollment Services Center in Britt Hall 230. Cashiers will charge a student's account the $20 fee and then provide information about picking up the replacement SOU ID Card.
- The opt out request will remain in effect from the date a student signs and submits the form until he or she formally revokes the request in writing.
- The SOU ID Card will serve as an opt out student's official ID while enrolled at SOU. The services and benefits available with the SOU ID Card are subject to change as programs are implemented, modified, or eliminated.
- The choice to receive the SOU ID Card is voluntary, and an opt out student must release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Southern Oregon University and the State of Oregon and its officers and employees from and against all claims, liabilities, actions, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to the issuance or use of the SOU ID Card and the mailing of a refund check.
- Opting out will not prevent HigherOne (the provider of the SOU OneCard) from communicating with the student; however, opting out voids any relationship SOU has with HigherOne on behalf of the opt out student.
- Students with questions may contact the Enrollment Services Center at 552-6600 or email us at esc@sou.edu.
