Southern Oregon University

Emergency Notification System

SOU-Alert logo

Recent unforeseen situations from natural disasters to health scares or other threats of violence shed light on the fact that Southern Oregon University must always be fully prepared.  Accordingly, we have implemented an emergency notification sytem called SOU-Alert.  This service will enhance the already existing procedures in place for emergency preparedness.  With this service, students and employees can be notified with vital instructions anywhere, any time, through messages sent to cell phones, home phones, e-mail accounts, text messaging, pagers, even TTY/TDD enabled devices.

SOU-Alert uses directory information you've already provided to the university and allows students and employees to identify additional information if they choose, like cell phone numbers, alternate phone numbers, and an additional email address.  This additional information can be your own or that of parent's/spouse's phone numbers or close friends that you wish to have contacted in case of a campus wide emergency.
