Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)
Parking Information
Ashland Campus
Parking on the streets in the vicinity of the OLLI-SOU campus is problematic, particularly if you are taking morning classes. Members using street parking can expect a one to three block walk.
An alternate choice is to purchase an SOU parking permit for $95/academic year at the Enrollment Services Center cashier windows in Britt Hall. The lot most convenient to OLLI-SOU is in front of Cox Hall (see map below). Do not park on campus lots unless you have an SOU parking permit or your vehicle will be ticketed. Some campus parking lots, including Cox Hall, have metered spaces.
Across the street from OLLI-SOU at the Grace Lutheran Church's upper parking lot there are 28 parking spaces (at the corner of Oregon and Frances). Three of these spaces are reserved for handicapped members and for instructors on the day they are teaching.
Handicapped persons may opt instead to purchase a parking permit for $95/academic year and use Lot #15 (located behind Campbell Center). Persons parking on an SOU lot with a DMV handicapped permit but not an SOU parking permit will be ticketed.
OLLI has reserved five handicapped parking spots next to Campbell Center. Only one of these spots requires a DMV permit. Any OLLI member utilizing an OLLI handicapped space needs to get an OLLI parking permit from the OLLI office.
Consult the map below for parking lot locations convenient to OLLI-SOU. For a map of the entire SOU campus, see: http://www.sou.edu/map/CampusMap.pdf.
Medford Campus
There is on-street parking near the Higher Education Center, but it is limited to two hours. OLLI members may park for extended periods in Lots #3, #4 and #5 if they purchase coupons. Those parking behind the library (which is closed on Thursday and Friday -- Lot #3) and which is nearest and the safest walk to HEC may purchase a single all-day pass for $3 or pay $30 for 10 coupons. Parking across from the library on South Central (Lot #4) costs $2 for all day. There is a Pay 'n' Park machine on the lot. Lot #5, which is across the street from Lot #4, costs $3 for all day. All-day parking tickets may be purchased from Action Parking at 14 North Central (Suite #103) from 11:00am to 1:00 pm. There is also free all-day parking at Bear Creek South (beneath I-5). That lot fills up very early in the morning.
Download a parking map at http://www.downtownmedford.com/downloads/08_parking_brochure.pdf. Handicapped persons having a DMV placard hanging from their car mirror may park all day in parking lots and on the street in one, two and three-hour slots at no cost.
