This qualitative study approached the research utilizing both personal interviews and a review of literature from local, state, and national sources. The research focuses on currently available support services for families with autistic children. This information is presented with an expanded overview of related facts: where families can find local support services; learn more about the disorder; and, explore potential treatment options. The value in this research is to inform and familiarize the public in Jackson County and surrounding areas to potential support systems, and care that can help ease the challenges inherent to this debilitating neurological affliction.
