I will scale down the stars in the Milky Way to grains of sand, and light years to miles. Bringing that scale into the room I will deliver a PowerPoint presentation, accompanied by an interactive project that will explore how many grains of sand are within a human body? If light years were miles to us, how many miles would we need to travel in order to reach the nearest star, Proxima Centauri, beyond our Sun; to Talent, Phoenix? How many stars, grains of sand would fill our room? I will also present what is known as the Drake Equation; an equation that allows a person to input their chosen values for variables that reveals, based upon their answers, the probability of intelligent life beyond Earth.
