Animals are used in research to find out what happens in our living bodies. To replace the use of living animals in research with alternative methods is not only difficult, but simply not feasible. As result of controversial protocol and treatment of test subjects a wide spectrum of debates has ensued. As people, we share varying opinions on what is ethically right or wrong to develop and test potential forms of treatment, to advance scientific understanding, to protect the safety of people, animals and the environment, and to use as models to study disease.
