Does organically farmed produce of the Rogue Valley contain more nutriotional value then conventionally farmed produce?

Living in the Rogue Valley there is a unique opportunity to buy organic produce that has been farmed locally. There are many potential health related benefits to buying local organic produce however the price of conventionally farmed produce is less than that of organic. This raises the question does expensive mean better or healthier? This study examines the nutritional value of organic produce versus conventional produce based upon the FDA's formulated average 2,000 calorie a day diet. Observing the social implications for purchasing organic or conventional is significant to the study to determine the community's extent of knowledge on nutritional content of the produce they have purchased. Research will be done in order to gather information regarding nutrition facts comparing the produce as well as learn the logic behind the decision making process for the customers. This study seeks to determine the nutritional differences between the two contrasting farming methods and bring about nutritional awareness.
