The Frontline Youth Group from First Baptist Church in Ashland, Oregon spent ten days in El Sauzal, Mexico over Spring Break 2013 completing work projects and participating in the facilitation of a Vacation Bible School for thirty children ages three years old to eighteen years old at El Sauzal Orphanage. The theme of this project was "How to Stand Strong in the Army of God" which highlighted teaching youth how to stand-up for what they believe in. Creative curriculum and activities were designed and implemented regarding the development of spiritual and moral values. This project helped encourage and empower the high school students on the team to see beyond themselves, to inspire compassion, and to broaden their worldview as they were immersed in a different and new culture. For the children living at the orphanage, the purpose of this project was to promote meaningful relationships where a sense of creativity, excitement, compassion, purpose, generosity, and love were present. The impact felt both on behalf of the orphans and on the high school students' involved, will have a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.
