Outdoor Adventure Leadership has many lessons to teach its students, including interpersonal communication, group dynamics and self-awareness to name a few. While a traditional classroom can serve as an appropriate venue for some of the OAL curriculum, outdoor activities are the best venue to learn, practice & gain wisdom in this field. Every January-February, a small group of OAL students and one instructor go to New Zealand to study for the winter quarter. Since this is New Zealand's summer, and New Zealand is a hub for outdoor adventure education, it is a brilliant learning opportunity for these students to learn. This poster presentation is an opportunity for these students to highlight a few of the numerous lessons learned over 46 days in the field in New Zealand.
