After reviewing existing literature and national resources on transgender healthcare, I developed a training for health care providers on ways they may make their office trans friendly. This includes improving forms, providing follow up care, and providing care based on the person and not their gender. In addition, I contacted health care providers in the Rogue Valley with a goal of creating a resource guide both for providers and for transgender individuals in the area. My project consisted of seven interviews two of which were with the Student Health and Wellness Center on the SOU campus. During these interviews I spoke with the providers about the care they offer trans individuals and how they can improve the care their office provides. All of the providers I interviewed offered services to transgender patients and were happy to discuss the services they provide. This presentation focuses on suggestions for health care providers in making their practice more transfriendly.
