Accessing resources in any community can be a daunting and disheartening task. The purpose of this project was to help families, who are either new to the community or are in need of public resources and are unable to access those resources. This project, a family resource book, was created to provide a single location where families could access information to answer their questions and provide information on resources that otherwise they may not know about. This project was completed through several discussions with the Director of the Schneider Children's Center. Through these discussions we were able to compile a list of resources we thought appropriate and put them into a book. As a result of the compilation of these resources, I was able to produce a book that provides a single location where families can access information on everything from local medical facilities to lesser-known community resources. With this type of resource book, the resources presented would be more widely used. There are many families in need, but are unable to access this information due to the relatively complex steps needed to access the information. Our communities would benefit from more openly available resources such as this.
