This Faculty Organized Panel will consist of several University Seminar student group presentations on a variety of biomedical ethical issues, such as physical performance enhancement in sports (anabolic steroids, blood doping, etc.), cognitive performance enhancement in academia (Adderall, Ritalin, Provigil, etc.), financial compensation for kidney donation, using assisted reproductive technologies for embryo screening of non-medical traits (i.e., "designer babies"), and the diagnosis and treatment of childhood mental disorders (e.g., ADD and ADHD).
