The old tradition in Psychology of relieving a person of their psychological distress is changing. Through the eyes of Positive Psychologist the present focus is on teaching people how to live optimally. It is well known that college students face many challenges, during their college career. However it is also known that being both mindful and spiritual, experiencing positive relationships, and having a sense of well-being are just some of the many things that can greatly influence our life experience. To what degree do positive psycholgy traits permeate students at SOU? In order to answer this question 52 students were given a online survey that gauged their degree of mindfulness and spirituality, relationships, and well-being. Demographic information such as sex, gender, age, ethnicity, education level, relationship status, and sexual orientation was also gathered.The anticipated results are that the above mentioned traits of Positive Psychology build on each other to produce an overall positive life experience. A college age individual may benefit greatly from understanding some of the factors that foster a sense of well-being.
