Hawaiian Hula-Dance: The Language of the Heart; the Heartbeat of the People of the People

Paige Gregory

Hula-Dance is the most native style of dance in our nation's history. It exemplifies body language through dance as an art form from the native Hawaiians. Hula requires open-heartedness, open-mindedness, and above all, patience and rural understanding. Originally, hula was the epitome of myth and storytelling in the Hawaiian Islands. In deviated aspects, it now functions as symbolism for the impact of tourism on Hawaiian civilization.
