zLab is a proposal for the development of an Innovations Lab in the School of Education at SOU. The zLab approach will introduce the generative process of design thinking to emerging and veteran educators, bringing together 3 domains: creativity, collaboration and a trans-disciplinary approach to teaching and learning. Drawing on emergent principles, zLab proposes to energize teacher practices and cultivate creative leadership in education by demonstrating the power of applied collective thinking to re-imagining education in the 21st century and generating innovative solutions for the optimal success of Generation Z learners. zLab is inspired by the creative professional life of Wilkins O'Riley Zinn, and will carry forward her legacy of passionate teaching & mentoring, infused with creativity & play. zLab is a capstone project of Sharon Dvora, as a key element in the completion of a Master of Fine Arts degree in Collaborative Design from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland.
