The Kolo: the First Step towards Healing from Triadic events of the Yugoslavian War

The Yugoslavian War of 1992 is considered on of the most horrific and devastating wars of the twentieth century rivaling possibly only World War II. Survivors of this war and the human genocide that occurred during the war, suffer from sever Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Dr. Danica Anderson, a Serbian forensic psychotherapist and an expert in traumatic stress is using Kolo, a traditional Yugoslavian style of folk dancing, to treat and heal victims of the Yugoslavian War. Presenting an analysis of Dr. Anderson findings, the Yugoslavian War and its effect on the Serbian people thus providing evidence for the argument to the validity dance being used all over the world as a form of treatment and healing for victims of horrific events and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
