Niu Yang Ge: The Dance of Revolution

In the 1940's, the Chinese Communist Party used many means to gain the peoples support in their endeavors. Eventually, the Communist Party adopted the traditional dance Niu Yang Ge, also known as "reform yangge" or the dance of revolution, as a means of rallying village support. Even though controlling the Chinese People through the dance Niu Yang Ge was the parties intent, the people of China ended up using it as a way to stay together and keep their minds off the horrible things happening in the country of China, striking up the peoples revolution against Communism. The purpose of this poster presentation is to educate people on what was going on in China in the 1940's when the Chinese Communist Party begun to cease control of the country through the means of traditional entertainment and the dance Niu Yang Ge in particular.
