Adolescents exposed to violent video games are at a higher risk of becoming aggressive within school than adolescents who are not. The purpose of this poster is to inform individuals on the popularity of this particular media violence and how it is negatively affecting the youth of society. As adolescents become aggressive, these behaviors, actions, and thoughts can have a negative impact on other aspects of their lives, such as hostility, poor school performance, arguments with teachers and classmates, and physical fights (Gentile, Lynch, Linder, & Walsh, 2004). This information will inform individuals that a negative link between playing violent video games and aggression occurs. Throughout the research of peer-reviewed scholarly articles and government documents, it is clear that as adolescents are exposed to violent video games their aggressive tendencies and behaviors increase. Parents who purchase these violent video games for their children need to be more cautious. This poster offers potential policy implications and suggestions for parents to be more engaged.
