This research project took a wide-range approach in comparing completion rates of evidence-based correctional and treatment programs with recidivism rates of juvenile offenders in the state of Oregon. Oregon Revised Statute 182.525 states that all correctional programs that receive state funding must base 75 percent of its programming in evidence found in current research. The Oregon Youth Authority which oversees all juvenile correctional facilities has thoroughly integrated evidence-based programming into its treatment programs. This research will explore completion rates by fiscal year of adjudication of youth treatment and correctional programs and cross tabulate that against youth recidivism rates.
