Homeless teens are trying hard to survive but when the homeless teen is a parent survival brings on a whole new meaning. Working with a teen to be the best parent they can be is one of the most rewarding jobs a person can have. Protecting the very young children from abuse and neglect is something that no one can overlook. Working with the volunteers of Home Plate to make sure they are providing quality services to young children of Home Play will make a lifelong difference. Modeling positive interactions with the children for their parents is crucial. Children learn what they live; so to have healthy productive citizens we need to provide the best care possible for children at risk. By setting up guidelines for the parents and volunteers Home Play will provide quality and consistent care for all who come. Parents will know their responsibilities for their children and be able to be an active part of their child's care. Volunteers will know their responsibilities and be able to keep healthy boundaries. If we strive to help homeless teens out of their situation their children will thrive and the community will be a better place for everyone.
