My capstone project focuses on the importance of reading and providing books to children. In my practicum I found out that many of the children there did not have books at home so I decided to put together a program that collected and distributed books to these children. I contacted my local library and they provided over 100 gently used children's books to hand out. In contacting the library I was also able set up a yearly donation for the children so they could continue to receive new books to take home. This program was quite successful because the children really loved all the books and were able to each take one book home with books left over for new students.
