The topic of marriage equality is still controversial in many places and remains a polarizing one. Support or opposition to same-sex marriage can stem from a myriad of individual and societal influences. I conducted research regarding what demographic factors could predict an individual's support of marriage equality and whether education has an overarching effect on the other variables. Predictive indicators regarding support or opposition to marriage equality are many and can include religiosity, political conservatism and race. This research explores to what extent these demographic factors influence support for marriage equality and what this could mean for future legislation regarding the issue.
