The Computer Forensics Team from SOU's Computer Forensic Courses will be conducting a 2 phased Counter Terrorism Crime Scene Investigation exercise the first two weeks of Spring Quarter. April 4: The students will seize a computer, capture network traffic from a system suspected of involvement in campus wide hacking incident. This will commence at 12:30 PM and last about 2 hours. April 9: From phase 1 the students will alerted to a possible terrorist incident at Klamath Falls airport/ Kingsley Air Force Base. The Oregon State Police Explosives Unit will prophylactically blow up a suitcase and back pack. It is suspected that these contain bombs. However they contain computers. The students will collect parts and pieces that may possibly contain digital evidence of criminal activity. As a result of the student's forensic examination of the evidence collected they will write forensics report suitable for presentation at a trial.
