I chose to focus my project on art because I feel like it is something that is being forgotten in many classrooms. There is such a burden to teach to the standardized testing and art, music, PE, etc., are often important things that are left behind. My main goals for this project were to be able to do an art lesson within my host-classroom and then take their artwork to be displayed in a medical office by a neighboring hospital. I wanted to learn what it was like to teach an art project with an entire class. I learned how much children love art and even more, how much they love sharing their creations with others. The class was so excited that I was taking their artwork to be displayed somewhere for so many to see and enjoy. They took such pride in their work, and you could see it in their eyes.
