TEACHER EDUCATION STUDENT POSTER PROJECTS. A small group of graduate and undergraduate teacher education licensure students, working under the supervision of a faculty member, are developing a practitioner-based action research project on a social justice theme to implement with the elementary school students in their student teaching placements. They are identifying a need in their classroom placements, designing a research question, researching the relevant literature, and creating an intervention/innovation to meet the targeted need. They will implement the short term intervention/innovation in their separate placements, collect student data to inform their understanding, compare, contrast, analyze and reflect on the data, interpret the results, and determine the implications of their work. Using specific data collection tools, such as pre-and post-assessments, they will evaluate the effects of their project on student learning as well as on their own development as emerging teachers.
