In a skill-based class such as USem, one is always aware of time--time to teach effective research skills, ethics, team work, project management, presentation skills, and quality writing, the content mandated for USem 103. Sometimes the task seems daunting given the fleeting nature of a term. I've developed a term-long project that maximizes instruction in all those areas, as well as providing learning opportunities in areas of community education, project-based learning, information technology(and other technologies),and communication, and it also develops one of our new pillars of marketing at SOU: connection with the community. I would like to share my project with others because it is adaptable to any number of situations and disciplines, plus it was just a lot of fun to teach.
