The Novel Influenza A Virus is a virus that has been around for many years. H1N1 is a result of re-assortment from the Avian Flu, Swine Flu, and the common Human flu. This matter became a national threat on April 26th, 2009, and officially became a global threat on June 11th, 2009 when Dr. Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization, declared a Phase 6 worldwide pandemic. It is astonishing how a minuscule microorganism can cause catastrophic events. It is vitally important to prepare for infection. Proper precautions should be met, and with the help of local officials and willing citizens, this virus can be managed; This presentation will lead you through the beginning of this outbreak in 2009 and its current statistics in 2010.
