SOU Computer Forensics students will demonstrate all aspects of an investigation of a crime involving a computer. We will follow the investigation from the seizure of digital devices through expert witness testimony in support of the findings. Featured will be the results of a 2009 Presidential Mini-Grant Live System Acquisition Device. We will also show the results of the forensic analysis of a computer system, the recovery of deleted photos from a digital camera and the contents of a cell phone. Throughout the demonstration, we will emphasize the importance of using legally sound procedures during all aspects of the investigation.
