This poster presentation will go into the many side effects of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy showing the many problems that they face as those effected with this grow up. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a muscle disease that young boys start showing symptoms of when they are infants. Fatalities occur in their late teens and early twenties because of this disease. This poster presentation will go into the genetics behind the disease and show where on the genome that these problems occur and why it is so hard to treat. It will also go into the progress scientists have made in trying to find cures for genetically based diseases.
