Cocaine is a highly addictive drug that people choose to use as a coping method to deal with their own personal problems such as violence, impoverishment, and the feeling of hopelessness (Inaba). What I found in my research is that this stimulant affects self-identity in a negative way giving people feelings of restlessness, paranoia, and depression over a repeated amount of use. When a person is using this drug they do not act upon their own decisions therefore losing their identity. Most of their choices are made by cocaine manipulating their mind based on the pleasure center of their brain and through addiction.
