The most recent statistics released by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention suggest a staggering one in 88 children in the United States are affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. Many people are unaware of what Autism is and how it affects families. The book, "Living an Extraordinary Life in an Ordinary World: What Parents who have Children with Autism Want you to Know", is designed to inform the community about Autism using stories written by local parents. The organizers worked on this project by collecting stories, designing the book, and organizing the donation of printing. All of the proceeds from the books sold in locations throughout the community and online will go to Families for Community, an organization that provides support for families who have children who experience disabilities. The book was also distributed as a gift at the annual Southern Oregon Autism Gala.
