Reading on the Road

Jessamy Miller

Storytelling and literature are fundamental tools to creating a lifelong interest in learning. This community learning project centered around the Reading on the Road Program through Jackson County Library Outreach. The Reading on the Road Program serves childcare providers around Jackson County by delivering and returning library books directly to participating sites. The main objective of this community project is to provide quality literature to young children and expose them to the oral tradition of storytelling. The students share and listen to a variety of stories, engage in discussions, and have exhibited heightened interest in literacy.
