Hoops for H.O.P.E.

Cancer has affected each of us in some shape or form, whether with a family member, friend, teacher, coach, etc. To honor our loved ones, we can contribute to cutting-edge research done by the American Cancer Society. The Relay for Life is an annual event and is one of the American Cancer Society's main fundraisers. Hoops for H.O.P.E. was an event organized by a member of a Relay for Life team as a CBL project. Through this event students and community members participated in supporting this cause. Eight teams of a maximum of four members participated in a double elimination 3-on-3 tournament. Each member paid a fee of $5 in order to donate towards the fundraiser. Students walked away feeling good about participating. This event helped raise awareness for the fight against cancer while also raising funds to add toward the research. Together community members and students raised $160.
