Due to school budget cuts a lot of programs have been removed from the schools, along with those programs is the Talented and Gifted (TAG) program. This program allowed students who are reading at an accelerated level a chance to leave the review behind for a while and embrace the challenge of advanced literature. What I have done is create an after-school program for Accelerated Readers (AR) and students with homework needs. I have set this up in a local school three days a week and it is open to everyone who either needs help or would like to peer tutor. I currently have two separate AR groups going and they are each reading a different book. This looks like it will be a success.
