Thirteen SOU students from across all disciplines, one staff member, six days in Guatemala, combined in one Alternative Spring Break trip working with incredible people to create change. The first day of working in the small town of San Miguel Escobar altered our expectations for our trip together. The conversations that started on the evening of the first day in Guatemala changed our lives. In this panel presentation we will connect our experiences on ASB with research regarding the economics of coffee as well as provide recommendations for how we can use our buying power and our volunteerism to create positive, lasting, personal, international change. We realized how we can impact our world--you can change the world too!
