A Message from the Director
The Schneider Museum of Art opened its doors to the public in the fall of 1986. Many changes have taken place since that day. During the first 20 years we have featured engaging, provocative exhibitions, exciting programs, constructed new gallery and office space, and witnessed the completion of the Center for the Visual Arts which is home to the SOU Art Department and the Museum.
Over the years many people have stepped forward to ensure the continued success of this institution. It happens through memberships, attendance at annual fundraisers, contributions to the endowment fund, and thousands of hours of volunteer time devoted to museum activities. It is a true university/community effort and I look forward to the continuation and strengthening of these relationships.
