A Message from the Director
Greetings and welcome to the website of the Schneider Museum of Art, Southern Oregon University’s visual art museum. The Schneider is an educational, aesthetic and cultural resource for our school and the surrounding region. We produce an array of changing exhibitions throughout the year.
What to expect when you visit? Many of our shows will offer a window to a world of ideas and introduce novel, surprising and complex experiences. At other times our shows will put forward a mirror of the human condition and present opportunities to contemplate and reflect on where you might fit in the big picture. For students, the Schneider contains lessons that will help them become better people. For the casual visitor our shows can offer inspiration, joy or solace.
If a particular show is not your cup of tea, just wait. Next month we will have something entirely different. At all times however, you can expect to find the best results of research from the world of visual art.
