About Us
SOU is a leader in older adult education, starting with our first Elderhostel program in 1980. As the single largest provider of older adult education in the Pacific Northwest, SOU is constantly innovating. We welcome approximately 2400 participants to the campus community each year, and are proud of creating an intergenerational community on this public, liberal arts campus.
Our Mission
Siskiyou Center offers high-quality educational programs in Ashland and throughout the Pacific Northwest, for older adult audiences both locally and nationally. We engage in learning for the joy of learning. Education occurs both in the classroom and in the learning community formed by participants. These experiences contribute to personal growth, improved health, and a richer society for all.
