Kimberley Cox joined SOU in 2006. Dr. Cox’s research interests lie at the intersection of social psychology and health. Her research, which has been supported by the Haynes Foundation and the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, focuses on the social context of health and the application of social psychological knowledge and techniques to the understanding of social problems such as homelessness, inequality, and social exclusion. She is currently Principal Investigator of Jackson County’s 10-year plan to end homelessness. Dr. Cox holds a Ph.D. in social psychology from Claremont Graduate University, The Claremont Colleges.
Dr. Cox teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in social psychology, health psychology, community psychology, lifespan development, general psychology and applied research methods. She serves as faculty advisor for the Psychology Club and the Psi Chi Honor Society chapter. She is active in community-based learning and she currently serves as Chair of SOU’s Committee-Based Learning Advisory Committee.
