A Message to the Campus Community from President Mary Cullinan

Dear Campus Community:
I am delighted that we now have a finalized SOU strategic plan for 2009-2014. Building the New SOU: Strategic Plan for Distinction and Sustainability 2009-2014 has been developed and reviewed for over a year by individuals and groups across campus as well as by members of our external campus community.
The plan reflects values and commitments outlined in our mission statement as well as ideas that emerged from the branding process. It provides a framework for planning that throughout the university-from the Master Academic Plan to plans for facilities, enrollment management, fundraising, and other areas.
The University's strategic plan and individual unit plans formed the basis for a set of goals developed for 2009-2010 (see link below). These goals include benchmarks and persons responsible for them. Progress reports on these goals will be brought to the university planning council and posted on the web in January and in April. In January, also, we will begin the process of establishing goals for 2010-2011.
